Jiří Hrabovský Sells His Stake in Ewing Group to His Son Jakub, Will Remain at the Company

    Ewing Group, a. s. completed a two-year transformation that resulted in the integration of Manage Social into Ewing PR and a planned change in ownership and management of the agency.

    Long-time co-owner, executive, and Ewing Group co-founder Jiří Hrabovský (65) has decided to reduce his workload and his responsibilities for the operation of the company.  “It’s not a sudden change or decision. We were preparing this step for more than five years. Now the time is right,”  Jiří Hrabovský said. “After 20 years of being fully engaged, I feel the need to slow down and spend more time with the people and things that I didn’t have time for up to now. It’s not a retirement or a complete exit. After a summer holiday, I will still be available as a consultant and adviser and I will continue to support the clients that trust my judgement. I will also be ready to react to impulses form the market and acquire new clients for Ewing.”

    Jiří Hrabovský sold his stake in Ewing Group to his son Jakub. The ownership structure remains the same as Jakub Hrabovský and Pavlína Rieselová, another Ewing Group founder, each hold 50% of the shares.

    A Ewing Group general meeting also approved all formal changes to the company’s management, with Jiří Hrabovský stepping down as deputy chairman of the Ewing Group, a. s. board of directors. He was elected to the company’s supervisory board and long-term Ewing Group CFO Silvie Kurýlová took his place on the board of directors.

    offered her comments about the changes: “Jiří and I took over the company over 20 years ago when there were only eight of us. Today we have nearly 70 employees and annual turnover of CZK 120 million. We were able to make Ewing into a premiere brand that offers crisis, reputational, and strategic consulting services, especially in sectors that make up the backbone of the Czech economy. We’ve invested significantly into our public affairs and political marketing departments, and our results are among the top three in the country. I can see that Jakub has a strong desire to continue building what Jiří and I started and create new things for this market. That’s why I believe we have a bright future ahead of us.”
